Last December, FLYHT announced it had received an activation Supplemental Type Certificate for the Boeing 777 series aircraft FROM Transport Canada, which allowed an existing customer to begin the process of having the AFIRS technology installed on its aircraft.
Today, FLYHT announced the receipt of another Activation STC but this time from the FAA, which gives the technology the thumbs up for the important U.S. market. This approval allows the same customer, a U.S. specialty carrier, to begin using the AFIRS unit, which has been installed on two of the customers aircraft out of its fleet of nine.
The Boeing 777 is the world’s largest twinjet aircraft and has been flying commercially since 1995. According to Boeing’s website, the 777 is flown by 9 out of the top 10 airlines and the company has over 60 airlines from around the world listed as customers of this particular model.   To date, FLYHT has received STC’s for the Boeing 777 from Transport Canada Civil Aviation and the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States.
