FLYHT announced this morning the first factory installation of its AFIRS technology on a CRJ900 by Bombardier Aerospace (TSX.BBD) for delivery to China Express Airlines.

This is significant news for FLYHT as it is the second airplane manufacturer to install its technology (first being Hawker Beechcraft) on new aircraft this year. According to management, Bombardier reached out to FLYHT, because FLHYT is the only “approved” iridium satellite communications provider recognized by the Chinese aviation authority.

China Express Airlines, first established in 2006 as China’s first private regional airline. To date, this is the second aircraft that was delivered to China Express Airlines with AFIRS onboard out of the six AFIRS units the airline has ordered. According to the news release, all six are expected to be installed and turned on by the second quarter of next year.
