Icron Delivers USB Solution Over a Power Line With Panasonic Technology

Icron announced today that it has developed the world's first USB 2.0 solution that transmits data over a power line! This solution enables USB connections to all USB devices over the AC outlets found throughout your house and is built upon the HD-PLC Technology from Panasonic.

Extending USB 2.0 connections over standard power lines at data rates up to 190Mbps, the system operates without the need for additional software drivers on Windows, Linux, and MAC-OS systems.

Icron and Panasonic are demonstrating this revolutionary technology at the HD-PLC Booth B1226 at this week's Computex Show in Taipei.

We view this as a valuable addition to Icron's line of USB solutions. The ability to connect devices via the internal AC wiring of your house will eliminate much of the rat's nest of wires behind the standard computer. It will also allow users to setup a synchronized home network throughout the whole home rather than just one room.
