Neptune Publishes Peer Review Study: NKO Has Significant Effects on Arthritis & Inflammation

Neptune's study entitled: Evaluation of the Effect of Neptune Krill Oil on Chronic Inflammation and Arthritic Symptoms is now published in the peer review Journal of the American College of Nutrition, Vol. 26, No. 1, 39-48 (2007). Click here to be directed to the study.

The study was completed by the Department of Behavioral Science and Health Research, University Health Network, Toronto.

After just 7 days of treatment NKO reduced CRP (C-Reactive Protein) by 19.3% compared to an increase by 15.7% observed in the placebo group (p = 0.049). After 14 and 30 days of treatment NKO further decreased CRP by 29.7% and 30.9% respectively (p = 0.001) CRP levels of the placebo group increased to 32.1% after 14 days and then decreased to 25.1% at day 30.

The validation of this study in a peer reviewed journal demonstrates that Neptune's product is not only effective for those with cardiovascular disease but also at mitigating the effects of arthritis & inflammation. It is important to note that inflammation is also linked to aging, another blockbuster market for Neptune.
